Reestablish the Redeemer

Dec 17, 2017    Justin Marbury    advent of a redeemer, Ruth 4

At some point in ever human being's life a rescue will be necessary. It could be physical rescue, like a severe car accident. It could be financial rescue, like a monetary gift during a season of job-hunting. It could be relational rescue, when marriage is falling apart and divorce is imminent. Whatever the case, there will be a time when our own individual resources and abilities are not sufficient to get us through. Ruth and Naomi knew this reality all too well. But as we wrap up our study in Ruth, we see highlighted another reality that applies to all human beings too. There is a Rescuer. For Ruth and Naomi their need was met by a kinsman redeemer named Boaz. But as we tie a bow on the story of Ruth we turn our focus back to the Kinsman Redeemer of Christmas and we answer the question, what need do I still have that only my Kinsman Redeemer can meet?
