Revive the Promise
Dec 10, 2017 • Justin Marbury • advent of a redeember, Ruth 3
Promises are only as good as the character of the person making them. When a drug addict comes to you and promises to pay you back for a loan that they desperately need in order to buy food, not only do you question the truth of how they’re going to spend the loan, you seriously doubt that they’ll come through on their promise. Drug addicts are not typically faithful to their promises. On the other hand, if a man like Boaz tells you he is going to do something and then takes an oath in the name of Yahweh, it’s as good as done. What about the promises God has made to us? Do we live in such a way that one thing is obvious: we believe the promises of God? Let’s consider that question as we dig into the third chapter of Ruth.
