The Joy of Peace

May 13, 2018    Justin Marbury    Rejoice, Philippians 4:2-9

Joy and peace go together like peanut butter and jelly. But unlike peanut butter and jelly there is a definite order to the connection between joy and peace. Peace must come first before joy can really be experienced. No peace, no joy. The problem is that at every turn there is something seeking to steal our peace and therefore crush our joy. We know that Jesus has taken care of the most important peace once and for all. He has made peace between us and God by the cross. That’s a done deal. It’s the other forms of peace that we need to focus on as we consider the words of Paul, once again, in Philippians 4:2-9.
