The Joy of Quiet Obedience

One of the most destructive forces in the life of a local church is grumbling. It starts in the heart like an infection under the skin that eventually ruptures into the open and manifests as dissension and division. That’s why, in Philippians 2:14, the apostle Paul commands the church, “Do all things without grumbling or complaining.” He knew that in order for the church to stay united as one, grumbling must be kept at bay. The solution? Finding joy in quiet obedience. Let’s consider how we can do this as we continue through our verse by verse study of the book of Philippians.
